Formats For Submission

A.TELEVISION CATEGORIES

1. Entries must be submitted in three formats:
(1) Betacam, NTSC system, PAL (China)
(2) MPEG-4 compression on VCD/ DVD
Audio-stereo, 720*480pixels, Data Transfer Rate: 8M
(3) WMV file for internet use.
Audio: 22kbps Mono Music, 320*240pixels, 15fps, Data Transfer rate: 300kbp
2. Commercial spots must not be longer than 180 seconds.
3. Entries from the same entering company should be recorded on ONE video cassette tape along with a list of entry files (please indicate clearly the file names of the works indicated). Please leave ten seconds of black at the start and the end of each tape. Leave five seconds of black between each entry, and one second between spots belonging to the same ad campaign.
4. Non-English entries must be dubbed, subtitled or accompanied by a written English translation.
5. Please attach a copy of the entry form on the video (audio) cassette to facilitate sorting of submissions.
6. Information on the agency and the production house MUST NOT appear as content in the tape.
7. Each entry must be submitted with a voiceover.

 

B.PRINT CATEGORIES

1. Ads that have been printed in newspapers or publicly distributed periodicals and magazines are all eligible, including media creative ad works using non-traditional sizes and layouts.
2. Entries should be submitted as picture files (CD-ROM) along with a list of entry files (please indicate clearly the file names of the works indicated)
Please choose a PC standard for your picture files. Each entry should be submitted in two formats: (1) JPG file format, maximum quality, with a 72dpi resolution in RGB color. JPEGs in CMYK format are NOT accepted (2) TIF file with 300 dpi resolution in CMYK color, and with the length of any side not less than 10 cm.
3. Files should be named in the following format: "Serial number-product name-ad work name" (example: P01-001-1 -President-Chrysanthemum) and saved on CD-ROM. The above-mentioned entry serial number will be automatically generated upon online registration. Further numbering should be added to entries from the same campaign as follows: P01-001-1, P01-001-2, with "P01-001" being the entry's serial number and "–1" designating the first work in the campaign, and so on.
4. Campaign entries must be accompanied by an explanation and are regarded as one entry.
5. A copy of entry form has to be sent along with the entry files.
6. Non-English entries must be accompanied with written English translations.

 

C. OUTDOOR CATEGORIES

1. Entries that have been on display outdoors for more than a month (shop window displays are NOT eligible).
2. Entries should be submitted as picture files. For picture file formats and naming of files refer to PRINT CATEGORY," #2 and #3.
3. Please submit an in-situ photo (4x6) explaining the circumstances under which the outdoor ad was posted.
4. Campaign entries must be accompanied by an explanation and are regarded as one entry.
5. A copy of entry form has to be sent along with the entry files.
6. Non-English entries must be accompanied with written English translations.

 

D. ONLINE ADS CATEGORIES

1. For online ad entries, complete the entry form on our website http://www.timesawards.com/2007tapaa/index.html
For each entry, please complete a separate entry form, an explanation of the entry, an explanation of the main techniques used, and check all relevant boxes.
2. Entries should be submitted on CD-ROM. Files should be named according to the following format: "company name-sequence number" to facilitate sorting and judging and prevent loss (example: chinatimes-1.gif, chinatimes-2.gif). If the entry is part of a campaign, it should be named according to the following format "company name-campaign name-sequence number." Please make sure to write the name of your organization on the outside of the case of the submitted disk, and attach a label with the names and sizes of your entry files on the inside of the case. Also submit a printout of the screenshot. If your labeling is not clear or if files cannot be read, your entry will not be admitted for judging.
3. All online ad entries must be submitted with copies of documentation proving that the ad has actually run. The ad placement order must be sent by registered mail to the Times Asia-Pacific Advertising Awards Executive Committee.
4. Non-English entries must be accompanied by a written English translation.
